Obituary for Melvin Neff

Melvin  Neff
Melvin Neff of Irving passed away March 30, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on December 11, 1926 to Emor Tracy and Gertrude “Saterwhite” Neff in Dallas, Texas. Melvin owned and operated Neff Refrigeration until his retirement in 1978. He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII on the Battleship USS North Carolina as a Radio Man Third Class. After the war he re-enlisted in the US Army Air Corp before leaving the armed forces. He was a member of BPOE #2334 and the CASI (Chili Association Society International). He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Wayne and Bill Neff. Melvin is survived by his wife Sharon Neff; children Tina Cox and husband Mark; Terri Svrcek and husband Steve; Keith Neff and wife Corinne; and Chuck McAdams and wife Rosanna; grandchildren Stephen Bailey, Dylan and Byron Aldridge; Ryan McAdams, Dustin Neff, Lauren McAdams, Hanna Neff Hazel and several great-grandchildren; and brother Joe Neff. An Inurnment with Military Honors to be held 10:15 am, Friday, July 21, 2017 . Memorial donations may be made to the CASI Scholarship Fund at www.casichili.net/scholarship. A celebration of Life, to recall memories and share stories of Mel's journey that have touched each of our lives will be held on May 6, 2017 at 4016 Harvestwood Ct. in Grapevine, Texas; Feel free to come and go anytime between 3:00 and 8:00 pm. This is meant to be a joyful celebration, no crying allowed! If you are planning to attend from out of county, state or a long-distance Hampton Inn & Suites will be offering bereavement rates up until April 27, 2017.
