Everett Lee  Jenkins Jr.
Everett Lee Jenkins, Jr., of Irving, died surrounded by his family on Friday evening April 14, 2017 at Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center in Irving. He was born in Avalon, Texas on September 30, 1934 to Everett Lee Jenkins, Sr. and Ollie V. (Fleeman) Jenkins. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a paratrooper during the Korean War. Everett was the proud owner of Jenkins Sheet Metal in Dallas for over thirty years, and attended First Baptist Church in Irving. Aside from time with his family his favorite pastimes were racing stock cars and traveling. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; son Bobby Jenkins; sister Barbara Jean Stubblefield and brother Lonnie James Jenkins. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years Gracie; sons Ray Jenkins and wife Sheila of Newark, Texas; Jay Jenkins and wife Lynette of Lewisville, Texas; seven grandchildren Shawna, Jerry, Jason, Justin, Andy, Josh and Kaitlyn; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Landon, Kaden, Ryder, Michael, Cassidy, Carley, Byntlee, Jaxten and Raeleigh; and his niece Becky and nephew Wicky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Service will occur at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 403 South Main Street, Irving. Burial will follow that same day at 2:00 p. m. at the Hughes Cemetery in Avalon, Texas.
