William Paul Melton passed away June 18, 2017 in Irving, Texas. He was born on May 11, 1953 in Texarkana, Texas to Paul C. Melton and Patsy (Lawrence) Melton. He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, son Matt Melton and wife Lindsey of Plano; sister Nancy Yarnell and husband Mark of Texarkana, Texas; sister Patricia Bryan and husband Bill of Marshall, Texas; sister Linda Hobson and husband Gerald of Atlanta, Texas and grandchildren Elise Melton and Hayden Melton and former wife and dear friend Carla Melton. He also leaves behind numerous extended family and more lifelong friends than could be listed. Paul was an incredibly loving son, father, grandfather and brother. He had enough personality and humor to fill an empty room and never met a stranger. Paul had an incredible love for music, theatre and any expression of one’s artistic character. This not only influenced his son into a deep seeded appreciation for the arts, but will also be a piece of him that will continue to be handed down. He will be desperately missed by all that knew and loved him, but we can rest easy knowing that he is now at peace at the feet of his lord and savior Jesus Christ. If there is even the slightest chance that an angel could have a sad day, Paul will be the one to throw on a Barbra Streisand record and make the world right again! Daddy, Brother, Grandpa, the world has lost a bright light, but we know you will be at the gates to welcome us home.
A memorial service will be held at Custer Road United Methodist Church on Saturday July 1st at 11:00 am. The address is 6601 Custer Rd., Plano, Texas 75023
