Obituary for Calvin Silva

Calvin Silva, age 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. He was born in Fairfield, California to Frank Edward Silva and Mabel Margaret Jacobson on October 25, 1932. Calvin was the oldest of 16 children. He proudly served in the United States Navy, serving his country for four years, part of this time during the Korean War, afterward receiving an honorable discharge. After the military, Calvin began work for the State of California as a computer programmer, where he worked forty plus years, until his retirement, and moved to Texas in 2005. He enjoyed football, and was a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers, and collected a lot of memorabilia from his favorite team. Calvin enjoyed movies, and reading drama books like Jason Bourne, James Patterson and Tom Clancy books, and collected many hardcover books. He was a loving, loyal and devoted man to his wife of 44 years, Alice, and loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice Louise Silva (Mauriello) and stepson Ronald David Cook. Left to cherish his memory is his sister Laura Silva; stepson John MacArthur and spouse Carolyn; children Terry Silva and Keri “Bo” Diemert; grandson Scott MacArthur and spouse Julie; grandson Todd MacArthur and spouse Jamie; 2 great grandchildren along with numerous extended family and friends.
