Peggy Sue Umsted, of Angleton, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was born April 29, 1943 in Bridgeport, Texas. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Denzil (Groves) Wise, husband Jerry Umsted, sisters Emma Lusk, and Jeannie Walls, and brother Jimmy Wayne Wise. She is survived by her daughters Chandra Jo Umsted and Jerri Sue Umsted, both of Angleton; Oma’s grandkids; sisters Marie Clements and Wanda McPherson and husband Edward, all of Irving, and Glenda McRae and husband Jimmy of Angleton; brothers Robert Wise and wife Zelma of Canton, Roger Wise and wife Awhawanna of Red Oak, Ronnie Wise and Clinton Wise and wife Pennie, all of Irving, and Larry Wise and wife Melinda of Wolfe City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, February 14, 2014 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
