Jake Van Alstine, an Irving resident for fifteen years, died October 11, 2013. He was born in McKinney, Texas on April 13, 1993 to parents Michael Everett and Mary Irene Baty Van Alstine. He is survived by his mother Irene of Irving; grandparents Floyd Baty of Irving, Merlyn and Jan Van Alstine of California, and Anne Stronan of Arkansas; his uncle Floyd Baty, Jr. and his wife Irina of New York, aunt Suzanne Raiford and her husband Mark of Arkansas; five cousins Simon, Paul, Andrey, Alex and Ben; and his half-brother Micah of Hawaii. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. A funeral service will follow at 6:30pm in the funeral home chapel.
