Obituary for William Kenneth "Handsome Ken" Vaden

William Kenneth "Handsome Ken"  Vaden
William Kenneth (Handsome Ken) Vaden of Irving, died peacefully at his home on April 11, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born September 17, 1923 to Isham Ira and Mattie Elizabeth Vaden in Birthright, Texas. He joined the Army Air Corps on December 15, 1942 and enjoyed a long and storied career with the Air Force before retiring on April 1, 1964. He said he had a good life, been all over the world, ate lots of good food and kissed many beautiful women.In 1961, while stationed in Japan, he married Terue Matsumoto who brought into his life grace, beauty and a little girl, Tamae, whom he adopted. Together they had Theresa Yoko and they remained together until her death in 1988. He enjoyed nothing better than laughing, ribbing, fishing, traveling, camping or just telling stories with his beloved family.He was predeceased by his son William Kenneth Vaden, Jr., his brothers Isham Gaylord, Anthony Earl, Ollie Leon and Robert Beasley Vaden. He is survived by his daughters, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He’d always depart by telling people at least they got to see one good looking man that day. His larger than life presence will be greatly missed.Services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur, Irving, Texas followed by internment with full military honors at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas.
