Edward Jaben, 89, died June 3 at his home in Irving, Texas. A native of Kansas City, Ed was a Navy lieutenant during World War II, serving in Italy. He had a long career in the retail business and was one of the pioneers of discount stores. He retired as executive vice president of Zale Corporation. One of the best "people person's," with a great sense of humor, Ed was widely respected and loved by his family, friends, employees and customers. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 53 years, seven children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity in Ed's name.
