Obituary for Anna Lou Jordan (Browning)

Anna (Ann) Lou Jordan, 79 of DeKalb, Texas lost her battle with cancer on the morning of July 23rd, 2016 at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas. She was born on September 3, 1936 to Vera and Albro Browning in Quinlan, Texas. Ann was the youngest of their six children. Prior to her retirement, she served in several positions at Tex-Pack Express, (formally Morgan Mistletoe). After relocating to DeKalb, she became engaged in multiple groups and civic organizations. Ann loved being involved in her community. She was a member of First Baptist DeKalb and the Spice of Life ministry, the Dalby Quilting Club and many others. Ann will be greatly missed by all of the lives she touched. She was a shining light and she fought her battle with dignity and grace. Ann proceeded in death by her husband, Wayne Jordan and her son, James Edmond Lile. She is survived by her sister, Ellen Howard of Marshall, TX; two daughters, Cindy Bartlett and husband, Charles of DeKalb and Lisa Boyd and husband, Andy Steger of Dallas, TX.; two stepsons and their wives, Russell & Sue Jordan of Dallas, TX and Danny & Cyndi Jordan, of Irving, TX. Ann has thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, along with a number of other family members and several very special friends that she considers her family. Graveside services will be held Friday July 29th, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas under the direction of Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. The family ask everyone to join them following the graveside for a gathering and visitation at Garden Arts Building 906 S. Senter, Irving, TX 75060. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Oncology Foundation, 12221 Merit Drive, Suite 500, Dallas, TX 75251 - please reference Anna Jordan on the donation.
