Tim Stricklin, age 69, died surrounded by his loving family, Friday, August 5, 2016. He was born a country boy in Mudfork, West Virginia on February 12, 1947 to Virgil Lester and Gladys (Tomblin) Stricklin. Tim joined the United States Air Force in 1965, when he was 18. He completes his basic training at Lackland Airforce base, and then was stationed in California at Vanderburg Air Force Base; he received his honorable discharge in 1969. Tim left West Virginia, but stayed in the south and moved to Cleveland, Tennessee where he was a truck driver for First Fleet, Catnapper, Ozark and Blue Ridge Mountain Express for 35 years until his retirement in 2010. He is preceded in death by both parents and son James Virgil Stricklin. Left to cherish his memory is wife Effie Stricklin of Tennessee; daughters Teresa Kaufman age 43 and Tracie Stricklin age 41, of California; granddaughter Morgan Kaufman age 17 of California; grandsons Garrik Kaufman age 15 and Mason James Stricklin age 21 of California; sons Tex Cecil Loftin of Bogota, Texas, Josh Stephens of Cornelia, Georgia and Daniel Loftin of Chattanooga Tennessee; daughter Robin Landress of Cornelia, Georgia along with 7 additional grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, 2 great grandsons and sister Brenda Stricklin Meade of Indiana. A graveside service will be held at the Mullberry Cemetery in Fannin County 11:00 AM, Tuesday August 9, 2016.
