Obituary for John Henry Richardson

John Henry Richardson
John Henry Richardson made his transition on September 3, 2016 in Grapevine, TX due to complications following rapidly declining health issues with cancer and dementia over the last 6 months. He was 88. John was born on November 2, 1927 in Palmer, TX to his parents, Henry and Mary Richardson. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1947. After leaving the Army he held a variety of jobs until finding his niche as a bookkeeper/accountant. He worked as office manager/lead accountant for FFE Trucking Company for 27 years before retiring in 1982. After leaving FFE he continued to work as accountant privately for many until just 10 years ago. He met Zelpha Irene Mueller and her 4 year old son Bill in 1950 and they married in 1952. They built their home in Red Oak, TX where he was a resident for the last 54 years. John and Zelpha were married for 31 years before she passed away in 1983. John appreciated the value of strong men coming together to better themselves and the communities in which they served and became a Master Mason in February of 1952. With over 62 years served in Masonic and the Shriners lodges he has undoubtedly left his mark on society. Mr. Richardson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William and Brenda Richardson of Euless, TX; granddaughter, Regena English and husband John; granddaughter Amy Hill and Husband Jay and great-granddaughter Taylor English. He is preceded in death by his wife, Zelpha, grandson Troy Richardson, and many other beloved family and friends. Mr. Richardson will be buried in a casual graveside service at Laurel Land Memorial in Dallas on September 8, 2016 at 4:00pm. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2016 from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving, TX.
