John H. Parrish, age 84, died surrounded by his loving family Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was born in Gainsboro, Tennessee to George and Kanzada (Brown) Parrish on June 28, 1932. John joined the Air Force on April 7, 1952, serving for 20 years with honorable discharge on July 31, 1972. He then began his career working for the United States Postal Service for 23 years until his retirement in 1996. John was a proud and loyal member of the Irving Masonic Lodge 1218 A.F.&A.M., Shriners in Garland and Scottish Rite, downtown. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Janie Draper, Ann Cunningham and Francis Sullivan. Left to carry on his legacy is wife Marilyn; daughters Wanda Hoff and Cheryl Page and husband Robert Espinosa; son Gerald Parrish and wife Terri; granddaughter Tamara Sharp and husband Jason; grandson Matthew Owens; granddaughter Lacy Jones and husband Kobie; grandson Rhody Parrish; great grandson Jackson Sharp; sisters Mary Baker and Iva Parrish. Visitation will be at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, September 29, 2016 between 8:30 and 10:00 am, with a funeral beginning at 10:00 am.
