Obituary for Eva Lee Nichols (Oden)

Eva Lee Nichols died Sunday, September 25, 2016, four days after her 90th birthday. She was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 21, 1926 to William Earl and Thelma Leona (Allmand) Oden. Eva Lee was a homemaker, talented seamstress and a maker of porcelain dolls. She was a longtime resident of Lakeview and Pleasant Hill Communities in Floyd County, where she met her husband James Lee of 65 years and they raised their 6 children. She is preceded in death by husband James Lee, her parents and brother Ovay “Slick” Oden. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Nancy Campbell and husband Gary of Gonzales, LA; son Jimmy Nichols and wife Jan of Breckenridge; daughter Jackie Cockrell of Irving; son Billy Nichols of Breckenridge; daughter Tammie Murry of Irving; son Richard Nichols and wife Lisa of Broken Arrow, OK; 11 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be held at Moore-Rose Funeral Home, 329 W. California in Floydada, Texas 79235, on Thursday, September 29, 2016 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, September 30, 2016 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home with an internment immediately following at Floyd County Memorial Park. The family request memorial to the Senior Citizens Center in Floydada at 301 E Georgia St, Floydada, TX 79235.
