Allen Brock  Scott
Allen Brock Scott, 80, passed away in Irving on Wednesday October 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 27, 1936 in Seattle, WA to Clayton Allen and Virginia Lee Scott. Brock graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma WA, where he met his future wife Barbara Lee Possehl, in 1954. He attended the University of Washington where he was a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity and Phi Sigma Alpha political science honorary. He received his BA Degree in 1958. Following graduation, he was commissioned in the US Army serving in the counter-intelligence corps. His business career in finance began in 1960 with CIT International as a credit analyst. In 1979 he joined the Associates Commercial Corp. and moved to the Las Colinas Headquarters in 1989. He retired in March 2001 as a Senior Vice President heading credit operations for the Industrial Equipment Division. Brock enjoyed many things. He enjoyed reading, Jazz and Big Bands music, and had a deep respect for fine musicians. His greatest pleasure was watching his son’s athlete activities (Football, Baseball, and Track) as well as college and pro football as a Cowboys fan. Brock loved the United States of America. He had a deep respect for the people who served our country and the traditions of patriotism. He was a member of the Las Colinas Country Club, was an active member of the Irving/Las Colinas Rotary International Chapter, and enjoyed volunteering in the Rotary Elementary School Reading Program. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Barbara, son James and his wife Rebecca of IL, son Richard of MO, and son David and his wife Karen of TN, as well as 5 grandchildren Kate, Adam, Brian, Sofia, and Lily. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Richard and his wife Margaret of WA and James of PA, as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Irving.
