Obituary for John Spencer Fredrick

John Spencer Fredrick
John Spencer Fredrick, age 81, died Monday, January 16, 2017 as the result of a massive stroke. He was born in Dallas, Texas on September 23, 1935 to John Pink and Dorothy Sandefer Fredrick. John grew up on a farm with two younger brothers and never lost his love of the country or his dream to own a ranch. John was an extremely generous man. He wouldn’t just give you the shirt off his back - he would set you up in an apartment, stock your pantry, and give you a job in his warehouse until you were back on your feet. He was a gifted businessman and entrepreneur, a banker, motivational speaker and rancher. He served as a preacher, Bible teacher, deacon and elder throughout his life, teaching a Bible study in his home up until a few months before his death. Many Irvingites will remember him as their high school Bible class teacher where he brought to life the teaching of God's word. He led so many to a relationship with Christ, baptizing them in a red pond at the ranch. John is preceded in death by his father, John Pink, and his son, John Spencer Fredrick, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Sue Day Fredrick; daughters Sueda & husband Dennis Brewer, Jr. of Irving, Vallorie Montgomery of Irving, and Melanie & husband Jeff Bargas of Dallas; 11 grandchildren: Alexandra Franklin, Mackenzie Brewer, John III, Adam, Jace, & Jordan Fredrick, Wynnfield, Elliott & Campbell Montgomery, and Madison & Jonathan Bargas; 3 great grandchildren: John Spencer Fredrick IV, Odin Montgomery and Augustine Franklin. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Sandefer Fredrick, brothers Stan and Craig Fredrick and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, January 21, 2017 at The Branch Church | Farmers Branch Campus, 3035 Valley View Lane, Dallas, TX 75234. Donations may be made in his name to City Square, an outreach ministry providing services to the underprivileged (citysquare.org) or The Branch Church.
