Andre A. Alfred Nussbaumer, age 92, loving husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Lord peacefully at his home in Irving, TX, on January 31, 2017. He was born and raised in La Chaux de fonds, Switzerland on March 8, 1924 and graduated from Institut D’Ensignement Technique technical school. He served in the Swiss military before immigrating to the United States where he had a long career in the automobile industry working for the French auto maker, Renault, and later for the Swedish auto company, Saab-Scania. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Reformed Church in Dallas, TX, for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ida Nussbaumer, and 3 of his 4 siblings, Francis, Edgar, and Marthe. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Thoni Nussbaumer; sister, Jeannette Koop; daughter and son-in-law, Martine & Mike Simpson; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Samuel & Patty Nussbaumer; son and daughter-in–law, Christian & Candy Nussbaumer; grandchildren, Michelle & Andrew Tuegel, Mackenzie & Alex Wallace, Maryssa Simpson, Jeff Nussbaumer, Allison Nussbaumer, Chelsea Nussbaumer, Caitlin Nussbaumer & fiancée Brett Davis, and Claire Nussbaumer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Andre Nussbaumer scholarship fund at Swiss Club of Dallas: P.O. Box 261364, Plano, Texas 75026. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, 6464 East Lovers Lane, Dallas, Texas 75214 on Sunday, February 19, 2017 1:30 PM.
