Obituary for Dorothy Jeane Wiley (Williams)

Dorothy Jeane Wiley (Williams)
Dorothy Jeane Williams Wiley passed away on January 31, 2017 in Irving, Texas. She was born on August 5, 1936 to Jesse and Lena Mae Harris Williams in Mesquite, Texas. Dorothy attended Mesquite schools and married James Wiley on August 7, 1954.

Dorothy and James did not have children of their own so she doted on the children in her extended family and on the girls that she worked with as Mother Advisor in Rainbow Girls. It was during her service with Rainbow Girls that she met Becki Brockway (now Becki Mitchell) in the early 1970s. They formed a special friendship that Dorothy treasured for the remainder of her life.

Along with her many years of service with Rainbow Girls, Dorothy was a member of The Eastern Star and The Remnant, former Sunset Presbyterian Church members.

Dorothy worked for National Casket Company in accounting, retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement, Dorothy and James were able to enjoy traveling. She was a natural caretaker and tirelessly took care of several of her aunts and uncles in their later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norene Williams West, and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James M. Wiley of Irving, Texas; niece, Joan West Morton of Forreston, Texas; nephew, Randy Wiley and his wife Alicia of Atlanta, Georgia; great-nieces, Anne-Marie Reese and her husband Tim of Lewisville, Texas, Aimie Wright of Ogden, Utah, and Alina Wiley of Atlanta, Georgia; great-nephews, John Wiley of South Texas and Ryan Wiley of Atlanta, Georgia; great-great-nieces, Gracen Scott and Sarah Reese of Lewisville, Texas and Addie, Kami and Coral Wright of Ogden, Utah; great-great-nephew Maddax Wright of Ogden, Utah; and loyal friends and caretakers, Billy and Becki Mitchell of Irving, along with their families.

The family would like to thank Dorothy's nurses and aides at Avante Rehabilitation Center in Irving, and the nurses and other employees of VNA Hospice.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 3920 Samuell Boulevard, in Dallas with Rev. James R. Sheppard officiating.
