Obituary for Jim Lees

Jim  Lees
Jim Lees, age 60, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was born on October 19, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Troy L. and Charles M. Carr Lees. Jim proudly served in the United States Army, after his discharge he began his 41-year career at GE Power and Energy as a machinist; retiring in November of 2016. He was member of First Baptist Church in Irving. Jim, in his younger years was an avid dirt biker, as the years passed his love of bikes evolved and he became a Harley enthusiast. He was quite the raconteur, for when he began his story telling, all eyes and ears where on him. Jim’s talents did not end with his story telling abilities, he was also a talented and innovative harmonica player. Jim even taught his Amazon Parrot to play the harmonica. He enjoyed fishing, and was quite the mean dancer, and towards the end of his life he enjoyed nothing more than some good chicken wings. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Marissa Pannell. Left to cherish his memory is wife Linda of 33 years; son Jeffery Pannell of Colorado; son Rob Biesel and wife Brandi of Corinth; daughter Brandie Hurtado of Frisco; son Troy Biesel of Dallas; son J.D. Lees of Irving; grandchildren Clint Treasure, Mallorie Hurtado and Miles Hurtado; sister Marion Franke and husband Bruce of Conroe; sister Jan Thomason and husband John of Irving along with numerous extended family and friends including son and daughter by love Seth and Caroline Grenweldge, their son, Jims’ Godson, Sutton and his loving canine companion Stella Mae. A visitation will be held between 2:00 and 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving with interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
