Tam Thi Tran, age 90, died Friday, February 17, 2017. She was born in Vietnam to Xuong Tran and Nho Nguyen on March 3, 1927 in My Loi, Phu Loc, Thua Thien Vietnam. After their courtship, she married Joseph Ha Doan, who was from the same village in 1950. They began their family soon after having 12 children, eight sons, three daughters and an adopted daughter. In 1975 after the war; Joseph Ha settled in The United States with their two oldest sons while Tam and the nine younger children, remained in Vietnam. Tam, now alone and her family divided, worked very hard in the farm to support and raise her children. In 1992, she, her husband and all children were legally reunited in Irving, Texas. Tam devoted her life to her husband, children, extended family and many friends. She was involved in many Catholic organizations throughout her life time. Tam loved Jesus and showed his love to everyone, donating to church, charities, priests and the poor. She will be remembered by all, as a truly devote Catholic as well as a kind generous and hardworking woman who enjoyed cooking; and as a dedicated, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and GG by her family. Tam is preceded in death by her parents and husband Joseph Ha Doan. Left to carry on her legacy is son Khanh Cong Doan and wife Hien Thi Vuong; daughter Lac Doan and husband Paul Mack; daughter Cuong Thi Doan and children of Vietnam; son Hung Phi Doan and wife Oanh Thi Kim Nguyen; daughter Trang Thi Doan and husband Son Phan; son Phi Hung Doan and wife Loan Truong; daughter Nhan Thi Thu Doan and husband Tuan Dinh Tran; son Ho Phi Doan and wife Lan Thi Hoang; son Long Phi Doan and wife Hang Ngoc Truong; son Cong Phi Doan and wife Loan Minh Nguyen and son Dao Phi Doan and wife Thuy Tran. Tam will be in state and available for viewing, beginning 9:00 am, Wednesday, February 22, 2017. The family will receive friends between 4:00pm and 9:00pm on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, Thursday, February 23, 2017, and Friday, February 24, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:45am, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Saint Joseph Vietnamese Catholic Church - Giáo Xứ Thánh Giuse, 1902 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75051. Interment will immediately follow the service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
