Rosenda “Rosie” H. Perez, age 84, died Sunday, April 9, 2017. She was born in Brownsville, TX to Pedro and Francisca (Medrano) Herrera on March 23, 1933. Rosie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her immediate family and to those that chose to “adopt” her as their own. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters Hortencia Lopez and Maria Herrera. Left to cherish her memory is daughter Rebecca Ahumada and husband Joe; son Reynaldo Martinez and wife Ada Luz; son Lorenzo Martinez and wife Angela; daughter Rosenda Peralez and husband Gilbert; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren along with numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 9:30 am, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home followed by interment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 11:15 am. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 12, 2017 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm with a rosary to be said at 6:00 pm.
