Remembering Mama Rose

Her son, Eric, shared with me that as a child he could remember laying in bed and hearing his parents talking and laughing together in their bedroom for hours (Open windows before air conditioning).  He can't recall a single time that he  heard them say a cross word to each other.

She was a great listener.  She was reticent to give out advise - but if pressed, she always had wonderful words of wisdom to share.  She lived through the depression and recalls giving up a treasured stuffed animal to feed the family with the beans inside of it.   She made sacrifices all her life - quietly and privately.  She never complained  and lived by the long lost rule "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all".

I am blessed to have had her as a role model and Mother.
