Gregory Lynn Turner, age 68, died at home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas to James Claude and Rebecca Mary Sue (Nichols) Turner on December 1, 1948. After graduating high school in 1967, Gregory entered the U.S. Marine Corps., serving during the Vietnam War. During his time of service, he earned a Corporal Ranking and was awarded several medals which including 2 Purple Heart Medals and a Combat Action Ribbon. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Damon Taylor. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 34 years Edith Turner; son Sean Turner; daughter Melanie Lyons; daughter Diana Etienne and husband Matt; daughter Jennifer Hairelson and husband Shaun; daughter Jessica Turner; 10 grandchildren and 1 on the way; brother Larry Turner and wife Sandra; brother Mike Turner and wife Tina; brother Stephen Turner and wife Cindy; sister Susan Turner; sister Stephanie Palmer; sister in law Johnis Saczynski and husband Thomas along with numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving. A committal service with Military Honors at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery will be immediately following the service. The family will have visitation between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, Monday, May 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
