James “J.C.” Davis, age 81, died Thursday, June 29, 2017. He was born to Leonard and LaRue (Newman) Davis on March 31, 1936. J.C. was a member of the Irving Elks Lodge and the Crane Operator Union. He worked for Crocker Crane Company until his retirement in 1994; having worked for Steel City Crane, Davis Crane and McIntire Crane as well. J.C. is preceded in death by his parents, son James Marvin Davis and 2 brothers. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 10 years Peggie; daughter Katherine Annette Davis Countryman and husband Rick; daughter Brenda Elaine Davis; brother Bobby Davis; grandchildren Chris, Kevin, KC, Cary, Rachel, Heather, Fran, Zach and Sheridan; great grandchildren Miranda, Morgan, Madison, Makenzie, Alexa, Presley, Audrina, Sadie, Sophia and Braden. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Cumby Cemetery in Cumby Texas; afterwards the family invites everyone to a reception being held at the Irving Elks Lodge after the family’s return from Cumby, Texas.
