Mary Joyce Snody, age 80, died Friday, July 28, 2017. She was born in Dennison, Texas to Lemuel Alfred and Ruby (Huffer) Sampson on August 7, 1936. She had been a resident of Irving for 70 years, graduated from Irving High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. Joyce was a very caring person, who loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed baking and cooking. Joyce is preceded in death by her son Stephen Snody; left to cherish her memory are husband of 63 years, Gene Snody; daughter Rhonda Murray and husband David; son Rodney Snody; brothers Cloyce and Richard E. Sampson along with numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, with interment at Oak Grove Memorial gardens immediately following. A visitation will be held between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, Monday, July 31, 2017, at the funeral home.
