Dearest Family,

As the one year anniversary of the heavenly ascent of Candy, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Candy was a dear friend. She was a special person whom God loaned to us for a little while to spread love and joyfunless to all. She is truly missed by the DAV and all of her friends.

Past Department Commander
Department of Texas

I was blessed to know Candy for many years. She operated the DAV Thrift Store of Irving with love and compassion. It is with that same love and compassion we at the DAV Department of Texas hold Candy not just as a comrade but as our sister, loved one and friend. We hold the family in our prayers and honor the life of this wonderful mother, daughter, sister and friend.
If we can help in any way please reach out to us and allow us to serve you.

To the Family of Candy Flores: As Past State Commander of the DAV Auxiliary State of Texas and the current Adjutant of DAV Auxiliary Unit #42 (of which Candy was a Life Member), I am truly saddened by the report of her death. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING that we the members may do for you or your family in this time of sorrow.
We, The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) are truly indebted to Candy and her tireless and unselfishness of the DAV Thrift Store in Irving. Freda and Pat,
Candy was a special IAL sister. Her and I shared tears and laughs together. We talked about a variety of things from craziness to the Bible. We never disagreed on anything. She was the sweetest and most caring person I know. She loved you two unconditionally. She fought a good fight. I know this has to be the hardest thing you have ever done. I can't imagine the pain. But know that I love you guys and pray for you daily. If there is ever anything we can do, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Freda I'm so sorry beyond words right now for you. Your mother truly was and always will be a blessing. Other than my own mother and home, your mother's home truly was a magical place. Holidays oh man holidays! Life size Christmas stockings. Remember that Christmas she made me my own macaroni salad to go? Drinking beer out back, zombie b rated movies. Just remember she might not be here physically anymore. But she's never far away because she will always be in your heart and memories. Now go watch Poultrygeist in her memory...lol. love you buddy!

There are no words that can express how sorry I am to hear about the death of this strong, witty, courageous woman. She was so strong. Candy was one of the most AMAZING women I had ever met. She reminded me a lot of my mom which instantly bonded her and I. Her stories would literally brighten my days and bring me to tears from laughing so hard. We would just sit for hours and hours laughing. She will always have a mark on my heart and the world definitely lost a remarkable woman. I love you Candy. You can rest easy mom, there are so many people that are going to take care of your baby girl. Xoxo.

My Aunt will forever hold a special place in my heart. She loved my mother with all of her heart and she was there for her during times when we couldn't be. She took care of her and loved her unconditionally as a sister should. Although we didn't see each other often, when we did she always showed me and my family love. I was so glad to have had the opportunity to see her last week and then to bring her great nephew by to see her Saturday. To know she heard his voice meant everything. Your battle was long and you fought in a way no one could. I will always remember how courageous you are and I hope you are hugging my mom right now. Love you Aunt Candy.
