Obituary for Carl Ray Mizell

Carl Ray Mizell of Arlington passed away August 26, 2017. He was born on January 2, 1928 in Bonanza, Arkansas to James Layfayette and Henrietta (Sanders) Mizell. Carl was a former resident of Ft. Smith Arkansas, Irving, Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Chandler and Lindale, Texas. He graduated from Fort Smith Arkansas High School and served his country in the United States Navy during WW2 and later in the Navy Reserves. He worked in the trucking industry for ABF freight, ETMF Freight, Tex Tool as a dock foreman and manager. In addition, he owned and operated a service station and vending machine company. Carl enjoyed outdoor activities including riding motorcycles, snow mobiling and skiing. He had a knack for building and could build or fix anything. He is preceded in death by his parents. Left behind to cherish his memory are daughter Cindi Mizell-Owen and husband Jerry; sons Jim Mizell; Greg Mizell and wife Kimberly; grandchildren Jennifer Mizell Tratree and husband Billy; Kyle Layne Ballard and wife Casey; Cory Alan Mizell and wife Sarah; Emily Mizell; Jonathan Owen; Hillary Owen and James Ryall; great-grandchildren Noah, Nash & Nike Tratree; Ada and Duncan Ballard, Cooper and Annie Mizell; Jordyn and Kyle Owen, Charles, Walter and Elizabeth Alexander. The family will schedule a private inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
