Obituary for Shirley Dawn "Shirl" Fairless (Talley)

Shirley Dawn "Shirl" Fairless (Talley)
Shirley Dawn “Shirl” (Talley) Fairless, 65, long-time resident of Fulshear/Simonton, Texas, passed away September 9, 2017 after a long-fought battle with leukemia. Her husband and their two daughters were by her side. Shirl was born on November 17, 1951 in Sherman, Texas. Shortly after high-school, Shirl met and married her soul mate, Randy, began a family, and moved to the Houston area where, with the love, support, and encouragement of this amazing woman, Randy began his law career. Shirl was a nurturer in every respect, always putting others’ needs before her own. She was driven to help people daily – not only her husband, family, and friends, but the community and strangers alike. Shirl was sincere, honest, thoughtful, proud, and witty beyond measure. Shirl’s shining achievement in life was her family. She was the best wife a man could ever have – loyal, faithful, best friend, Shirl was Randy’s whole world. She, along with her Randy, raised three wonderful children of their own, and their dear niece, and she was extremely involved in the lives of their precious grandchildren. Shirl, aka “Moosh” will be missed by so many. Shirl is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years, Randy; daughters Andrea Fairless Baker and Aileen Janelle Fairless; son, Zach Fairless; grandchildren Daisy Moore, Savannah Fairless, Jason Baker, Jacob Baker, Radley Fairless, and Wren Fairless; father, Austin “Bud” Talley; niece, Sarah Talley; nephew, Austin Talley, and Austin’s wife Hermelinda. Shirl is preceded in death by her mother, Betty; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Trudy Talley; and her dear friend and mother-in-law, Sharon Fairless. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
“You are the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful person I have ever known – and even that is an understatement.” F. Scott Fitzgerald.
