Obituary for Naomi Ann "MiMaw" Chambers (Watson)
Naomi Ann Chambers “Mimaw”, age 78, died on Friday October 13, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. Naomi was born on December 23, 1938 to her parents Houston Watson and Lora (Payne) Watson in Whitesboro, Texas. Naomi “Mimaw” was the matriarch of the family, she kept Poppa in line, and she was loved and adored by her family. She and her husband “Sonny” built and owned Chuck’s Garden Center, here in Irving for over 30 years. Naomi was an avid Texas Rangers fan. Naomi loved spending her time reading her novels and gardening. Her heart was consumed by her “boys”; Ash & Cam, who she kept up with always. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles W. Chambers; and 10 brothers and sisters. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children Lisa Odell and husband Royce, Tammy Chambers Poole and Jimmy Poole, and Charles Chambers II and wife Tammy; her 5 grandchildren Justin, Ashley, Chase, Cody, and Zac; her 6 great grandkids Ashton, Cameron, Matthew, Mayah, Tirzah, and Lucas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday October 18, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving, Texas with burial immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with reception to follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2017 from 6:00- 8:00PM at the funeral home. Family requests that memorial donations be made to Cancer Research by visiting www.cancerresearch.org.
