Elizabeth Brown, age 95, died peacefully October 19, 2017. She was born in Bells, Texas on July 21, 1922 to Ira William Way and Zuma Lee (Young) Way, one of 13 children. Elizabeth married William Edgar Brown, Jr on April 12, 1941 and they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary before Edgar's death in 2011. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, her husband and her daughter, Gail Iranece Brown. Left to cherish her loving memory are son, Bill Brown (Linda) of Lewisville; daughter, Kaye Behrens (Joe) of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Craig Brown (Julie), Elizabeth Capps, Bryan (Mary) Ablett, Ben Behrens; 8 great grandchildren, Haleigh Nicole and William Harrison Brown, McKenzie Elizabeth, Mason Alexander, and Madison Kaye Capps, Justin Miguel, McKenzie Gail and Zane Alexander Ablett and many nieces, nephews and friends. Elizabeth was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, the latest membership being at Cockrell Hill Church of Christ in Dallas. She read her bible faithfully and sacrificially and beautifully cared for her mentally challenged daughter for years without complaint. She found time to care for neighbors with meals and love, taught many children in Sunday school classes and many of her friends and neighbors about Jesus' love through the years. She was known for "esteeming others above herself." As Elizabeth's health declined and after Edgar's death, she moved to Right Place Senior Living in Desoto, Texas. She was lovingly cared for by the owners, Terry and Cherrie Sterns, Vicki, Sherry and Tenille and the loving family of the Sterns: Tay, Cherrish and Cherredi. Making her last years fun, yet comfortable and peaceful. There will be a visitation at Ben F, Brown Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur, Irving, Texas on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm. There will be a graveside service 10:00 am, Monday, October 30, 2017 at Old Kit Cemetery, 1413 Irving Blvd., in Irving, Archie Green, officiant. The family invites you as their guest, for lunch at The Glory House in Irving, after the graveside service.
