Cathy A. Shipp, age 67, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017. She was born in Corsicana, Texas to Earnest and Peggy (Myers) Ashley on August 2, 1950. Cathy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Larry Shipp. Left to cherish her memory are her children Stacey Whitehill, Erin DeSmit (Forrest) and Kyle Shipp; sisters Evelyn Simpson, Donna Riss and Rhonda Miller (Randy); grandchildren Ashley, Kayne, Austin, Quentin and Jaylin; 2 great grandchildren along with numerous extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. The family will receive friends between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd, in Irving on Thursday, November 9, 2017.
