Obituary for Joe Randell Walters

Joe Randell Walters, a longtime resident of Irving, passed away on Monday December the 25th. He was born on February the 18th 1934 in Snyder, Oklahoma to George Alvin Walters and Marguerite C. Still Walters. Joe graduated from Irving High School in 1952. Then he went on to proudly served his Country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 where he served in the Korean War. He met and married Bobbie Murlene Peck, whom he married in November of 1956. He studied and worked as a geologist, but his true love was carpentry and working with wood making several cherished pieces through the years. He valued his membership and ties with his church family from St. Stephens Presbyterian Church where he and Bobbie were very active for many, many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of fifty-three years Bobbie who died in 2010; his sons Randell Creg Walters and Christopher Scott Walters; grandson Sgt. Zachery Joe Walters, USMC; sisters Alverna Yarbrough and Norma Jean Merritt. Those left behind to cherish his memories include son Kelly Joe Walters; several nieces and nephews and other loving family members. A Committal Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 12th, 2018 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
