Barbara A. Webster, age 96 passed away Monday, January 22, 2018. Barbara was born February 5, 1921 in Omaha, Kansas. Barbara will be remembered as a loving mother, Grammy and friend to many. She committed her life to the Lord and served him in every way He asked. She was a member of the Community Bible Church in Irving TX where she helped with AWANA, church secretarial duties and mentored to young people. Barbara will be remembered for her love-hate relationship with the Texas Rangers over the years. She never missed a game; if the Rangers weren’t playing how she thought they should, she would just turn off the television and listen to the game on the radio- so she didn’t have to see them. Barbara was an avid card player with numerous playing groups over the years. She loved to teach her grandchildren how to play solitaire. She enjoyed traveling and with Ken and Ann at her side, they traveled the world. Barbara was strong willed with a quick wit that brought a smile to her family and friends. She was a prayer warrior who you could always turn to for a listening ear.
Barbara is preceded in death by her son Larry Webster, and Kenneth and Ann Wood who adopted her as family many years ago. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter-in-law Karen, her granddaughter Trisha and husband Joseph and their daughter Faith Ann, her grandson Troy and wife Gretchen and their children Ayla, Derek and Brenna, Kenneth and Ann Wood’s children and grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm for visitation at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday January 28, 2018. Interment will be held at 10am Monday, January 29, 2018 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. A memorial service will take place at 11am Monday January 29, 2018 at Community Bible Church in Irving.
