Virginia Jones – Geer, age 91, passed away on April 5, 2018. Virginia was born in Bogata, Texas on March 12, 1927 to James Lawson and Margaret (Rozell) Lawson. Virginia was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to fish and work word puzzles. She was a member of the Eastern Star and she took care of her grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Grady M. Jones (1971); second husband James Geer (2011); son Michael Grady Jones (2010); brother Buddy Lawson (1997). Left to cherish her memory are son Robert Jones; sister Susan Shamburger; grandkids James Jones, Byron Jones, Jennifer Picciaon, and Brice Jones; great grandkids Emmerson Jones, Dalton Jones, Cyndell Picciano, Cheyanne Picciano, Ian Picciano; nephew Samuel Shamburger; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday April 9, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with an interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. The family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation www.alzfdn.org.
