Obituary for Bryan Gross

Bryan Gross, age 36, died on Monday, April 23, 2018. Bryan was born on August 16, 1981 in Vallejo, California to Charles Richard Gross and Kathleen Elaine (Brooks) Gross. As a child Bryan enjoyed the Boy Scouts of America and went on to achieve the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in 1998. Bryan was a curious learner, very avid reader and considered by many a science nerd. He graduated from Harding University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and was working towards his master’s degree. His career began as a science teacher and in logistics, but most recently he enjoyed driving for Raider Express as a truck driver. He spent a short time in the U.S. Navy in Pensacola, Florida. Bryan was a loving husband, a very dedicated father who immersed himself in all things family. He will be remembered for being a fun-loving person, who enjoyed camping, cooking (especially the kind that involved a large open flame) and his eclectic taste for all music and the enjoyment he found while playing the trumpet. He was always trying to find a way to help others without self-recognition. Bryan is preceded in death by his grandparents Col. Pershing C. Gross USAF Ret. and Ozelma Gross, Lawrence Brooks and Eileen Brooks. Left to cherish his memory are wife Amanda; daughter Josalyn; son Ethan; parents Kathy and Charles Gross; sister Hillery Cross and husband Mike Cross and two children Sawyer and Hannah; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Heartland Church, 4020 Nazarene Drive Carrollton, TX 75010. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America Longhorn Council https://www.longhorncouncil.org/.
