Dorthy Elizabeth Gossett, age 60, was united with her Heavenly father on Monday, May 21, 2018. She was born on August 27, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to Orlin Keith Summerill and Mary Elizabeth (Welton) Summerill. Dorthy attended and graduated from East Texas State University. She was a very resourceful and self-motivated person, working as her own boss in marketing with DG Impressions. Dorthy will be remembered for being family oriented, having an outgoing personality, and her love of going out to restaurants, attending concerts and simply spending time with friends and family. She was a very affectionate, nurturing, caring and giving person, to human and animal kind alike, with a special fondness for dogs. Dorthy was a long-time member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church in Irving, since 1987. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, nephew Ryan Wesley Phoenix and wife Kim Phoenix Scherrer and brother-in-law Robert Phoenix. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 30 years, Tommy Gossett; sister Pat Ross and husband Michael; sister Sue Phoenix; sister Lisa Hamilton; sister Christine Barnfield and husband Jim “Buddy”; sister Sarah Francis and husband Bob; daughter Kristi Curd; daughter Stacey Rosales and husband Justin; daughter Emily Elizabeth Gossett; grandchildren Sherree Hulme, Allison Curd, William Curd, Cash Rosales, Colt Rosales, and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as numerous extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, 1615 Airport Freeway, Irving, TX 75062.
