Obituary for Doris Richardson (Revier)

Doris Richardson (Revier)
Doris Revier Richardson, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 and was united with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Doris was born in Dallas, Texas on February 3, 1942 to Ralph R. Revier and Ailsie (McCall) Revier. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a strong, hardworking, and generous woman who would give you the best and last of what she had. Doris worked until she was in her early 70’s, cleaning business offices, sometimes into the wee hours of the night, and even when she could hardly walk she would sit on an office chair to wheel herself around while she swept and mopped. Doris was a nurturer at heart, taking in every stray cat she could find, making sure they were fed even before herself at times. Doris was also a collector of rare dolls and bird houses and loved finding a good deal at yard sales. She was a picky eater, but she sure knew how to make macaroni and cheese. Her church family loved it when she brought her ‘special’ macaroni to share at gatherings. Doris spent her free time working on crossword puzzles, and reading, as she wanted to keep her mind sharp and busy. She relied heavily on the Lord for his provision with her health, her husband, their finances, and her every day peace. When you needed prayer, you could count on Doris to pray for you. She loved her church and missed it terribly when she wasn’t physically able to get there. Doris is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 14 years Joseph Warren Richardson; son Damon Gee; brother Rogers Revier; sisters Pat Waters and husband Dan, Beth Ross and husband Sam, Janey Revier and partner Claudia Rigsby; grandson Alex Gee; granddaughter Rachel Humble; great granddaughter Adalynn Humble; her brothers and sisters in Christ; and numerous other extended family, church family, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, June 18th, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the funeral home with an interment immediately following at Laurel Land Cemetery, 6000 S.R.L. Thornton Frwy, Dallas, TX. Then the family will have a small reception at their church, Celebration Worship Center, 1809 South Story Road, Irving, TX 75060 following the burial. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Grand Prairie Cat Crew. You may visit their website, https://www.gpcatcrew.org/ and click on the donate button.
