June Ann Carter Brown "Granny", age 80, died on Monday, August 6, 2018. June was born on June 28, 1938 in Charleston, West Virginia to Elvon Lee Carter Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Butcher. June was a home body who enjoyed sitting in her favorite chair with a Dr. Pepper in her hand and reading mystery novels. She cherished the times when people would come and visit, especially family and grandkids who she loved dearly. She also enjoyed playing bingo, doing ceramics, and dancing. June is preceded in death by her parents; spouse of thirty plus years, Darrell Allen Brown; son Marcus Brown; brother Elvon Carter Jr.; and sister Frances Kauff. Left to cherish her memory are her children Roger Brown and wife Mary, Melissa Brown, Gregory Allen Brown and wife Kimberly Sue Brown; grandchildren Morgan Brown and wife Kelly, Adrienne Brown, Derrick Brown and wife Charla , Jeremy Brown and wife Niki, Stephanie Longfellow and husband Steve, David Herman, Sandra Mary Brown and husband Mark, Ashley June Brown and husband Wynn, and Zachary Brown; great grandchildren Oliver, Oden, Janet, Ryland, Alexis, Aden, Tyler, Justin, Angela, and Beth; sister Judy Bennett. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061.
