Obituary for Ronnie Walker

Ronnie Joe Walker was born July 27, 1944 in Knox City, Texas and passed away at the age of 74 on August 10, 2018 in Dallas, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas C and Flossie Walker, and son Chad Walker. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Veta Fern Walker; Daughter Cynthia McKay and family, Nicholas and Trevor; Son Robbie Walker; Daughter Robyn Worthy and family, James, James Jr., and Russell; Foster Daughter Monica Smith and family, James, Jordan and Jarrett; Foster Son Robert Medford; Daughter in Law Danielle Walker Blum and family, Eric and Tristan; Daughter in Law Nikki Walker and family, Chance, Cami, and Gracie; and Daughter in Law Amanda Carrell and son Justin, as well as countless extended family and close friends. Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Wholesale Roofing Supply for 35 years of service. Ronnie will always be remembered for his love of family, his calmness in spirit, generosity, dry sense of humor, and most of all his love for the Lord. He had a heart with an enormous capacity to love because he loved everyone. Ronnie was a long-time member of Christ Church where he served as an elder. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 16th at Brown’s Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur, Irving, TX. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11:00am on Friday, August 17th at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX; 15 minutes prior to the service, friends and family attending, will begin the processional line up at Lane 1. Memorial services will be at 1:30pm on Friday, August 17th at Christ Church on 1750 E. Airport Freeway, Irving, TX.
