Obituary for Carl Gibson

Carl  Gibson
Carl Gibson, age 67, entered Heavens Gate on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was born in Livingston, Texas to David L. and Ethel Lee (Smith) Gibson on Monday, April 2, 1951. Carl was a strong and devout Christian man, and a long-time member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. He worked 27 years as a tax appraiser for Dallas Central Appraisal District, until his retirement. Carl’s hobbies included playing chess; reading, his favorites being mysteries and Christian commentaries; researching genealogy and his absolute favorite pastime, playing golf, which he did at least three times a week. He was deeply attached to and loved all of his canine animals, especially his dog Max. Carl is preceded in death by both parents and brother Sam Gibson. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 36 years, Pam Gibson; son Charles Gibson and wife Michelle; daughter Sarah Lovelace and husband Allen; daughter Kelli Smith; grandchildren Caleb, Joshua and Andrew Gibson, Allison and Marshall Lovelace, Blaine and Cade Smith; sister Colleen Fontenat along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm at Plymouth Park Baptist Church, 1714 N. Story Rd. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
