GARY LEE WESTERMAN

Gary is a 40 year veteran of funeral service.  He is recognized as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) by the National Academy of Professional Funeral Service, is a licensed Funeral Director and licensed Embalmer from the State of Texas and has served in many officer and committee positions with both the North Texas Association, the Texas Funeral Director Association (TFDA) and Texas Funeral Services, Inc.  Currently he is the Funeral Director in Charge and Manager of Brown's Memorial Funeral Home in Irving.  He has also been involved for 33 years with the AMBUSC National Therapist Scholarship Program, and currently sits on the organizations National Board which has provided over eight million dollars in scholarships since 1955.  When he can he loves to retreat to his garage when he 'revs' up his saw and works with wood.  Married to wife Kristy, they both are involved with programs at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church where Gary has been a part of since 1967 when his family moved to Irving.  He is also proud to be a resident of Irving, Texas for 49 years and is active in many community projects such as Irving Heritage Society and Wreaths Across America ceremony each December. Gary has special place in his heart does what he can to honor our veterans and what they do for all of us and has recently been proud to help promote, travel and setup/teardown of the Remembering Our Fallen Memorial through TFDA which helps us all remember those who gave all in the War on Terror.

SUE BROWN

Sue has served as the Floral Manger for Memories Flower shop for twenty plus years.  She is very proud to be the daughter in law of the founder Ben F. Brown. Married to Ben F. Brown, Jr. they have twin daughters whom in turn have blessed them with three grandsons and one granddaughter. Her favorite passion is finding time to spoil each grandchild before sending them home to their parents and enjoys weekend getaways and attending concerts with Ben, Jr.

DENISE STARCHER

Denise started working at Brown’s Memorial in 1993 with no background in the funeral industry. She started as Mr. Brown’s secretary and eventually became our Office Manager. She quickly realized that this was where she belonged and can’t imagine working anywhere else. She enjoys listening to music especially when her son performs in all three of his rock bands. She also enjoys playing tennis, riding bikes and hiking the Rocky Mountains with her husband David.

CRAIG BURCHAM

Craig has been serving families since 2014, and enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandkids. He likes being outdoors, preferably on his motorcycle. Craig says, "It is through the grace of God, I found my calling and will do it with the utmost respect and integrity."

LUCY CARRASCO

Head Floral Designer at Memories Flowers since 2011, Lucy loves designing with flowers and fabrics and is an avid seamtress, always making things from the heart, not just her hands.  Married for 51 years to Nestor, they have one daughter, one son, one granddaughter and two dogs. Family is her life and time with them is the most precious thing.

JESSE CAVINESS (A.K.A. "J.C.")

Aside from the six years he proudly served in the United States Air Force, JC has been a lifelong resident of Irving. He recently retired from Rhema Medical where he was responsible for the delivery and safe use of oxygen and durable medical equipment. At Browns Memorial Funeral Home, JC assists the funeral directors with visitations, and he comforts families in their time of grief. JC and his wife, Ottlynne, are very much involved with Woodhaven Presbyterian Church with Vacation Bible School, the worship committee, and the property committee.

Silvia has worked for Brown's Memorial Funeral Home since 2016. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and doing garden work.

WINDY JEWELL SCURLOCK

Windy moved to Irving from East Tennessee in 2010 where she received an Accounting A.A.S. Degree from Chattanooga State University. After ten years in the government and corporate world of accounting, she found what she considers her true calling working at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home. Working as the Head Office Administrator, Windy has a passion for not only the administrative part of her job but excels in the graphic design and graphic artist portion by creating register book, folders and other items for families. She truly wants to bring happiness through her creations to all families at a time of their greatest need of remembrance and celebration. In her spare hours away from the funeral home she enjoys kayaking and trying to out fish her husband Teddy.

GREG McCURRY

Greg is a Funeral Associate at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home and has been with the company since January of 2015. Greg handles all duties concerning the funeral home fleet of cars, keeping them at ready at all times. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his children and grandson.

STEPHANIE PRICE

Stephanie lives in Fort Worth, Texas with her husband, Joshua Price of 13 years and their three blue eyed, blonde headed boys, ages 3, 8, and 11. She was a stay at home mom for 8 years before feeling called to serve the people in this community further by working at Brown’s. She and her husband also serve as Pastor of Celebration Worship Center, where they have ministered for 12 years. Stephanie is the Worship Leader at her church, loves singing, and one of her favorite hobbies is Bible Journaling. She is a great asset to our Brown’s Family, as she truly cares about every person she meets.

DENNIE G RAYBURN

Dennie was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Tulsa. He attended the University of Tulsa, served in the Air Force and the Air Force National Guard. While attending the University, he worked at radio station KFMJ as a disc jockey, and then in a prominent clothing store in Tulsa which led to his future in apparel sales that lasted 45 plus years. He spent almost 8 years with Levi Strauss & Company, living in Tulsa, Texarkana, Ft. Smith and ultimately Dallas. He worked in the apparel industry as a Manufactures Representative until the early 2000s, capping his career as the London Fog Rep for 18 years.

While in Irving, Dennie had 4 children graduate from MacArthur High School.  He served many offices, boards and committees concerning youth activities while his children were growing up in Irving.

After retiring for a brief time in 2005 – 2006, he earned his license to sell pre-need contracts, which led to his association with Brown’s in 2010.
