Obituary for Duane Myers

Duane  Myers
Clifton Duane Myers “C.D.” of Irving passed away February 5, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Roy Lee Myers and Marguerite (Button) Myers. C.D. was previously from St. Louis, Missouri; Pensacola, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia and Grand Prairie, Texas. He served his country in the US Navy as a Captain for 23 years before working as a Captain for American Airlines for 32 years and retiring in 1987. He continued his service in the US Navy reserves for 20 years. He was a charter member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 35 years. He participated in the Church softball league and continued to play in the senior league until his 88th birthday. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Harold Myers and wife Shelby Anne Myers. Left behind to cherish his memory are daughter Anne Deem and husband Rick of Cleburne, Texas; Gail Myers and partner Bryan Crippen of Bedford, Texas; son Paul Myers and wife Debra of North Richland Hills, Texas; daughter Tanya Stoller and husband Brad of Colleyville, Texas; grandchildren Shane Robert and wife April of Flower Mound, Texas; Lindsay Deem of Dallas; Gabriel Deem and Jordan of Irving; Tommy Cornelius and wife Haley of Bedford, Texas; Sonny Cornelius and wife Andrea of Lantana, Texas; Calley Cornelius and wife Sarah of Highland Village, Texas; Valentine Cornelius of Terrell, Texas; Paul David Myers, Jr. and wife Melissa of North Richland Hills, Texas; Staci Leonard and husband Brad of Keller; Emily Stoller of Colleyville; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving. A committal with military honors will be held at 10:15 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to Plymouth Park Baptist Church Senior Ministry at 1714 North Story Road, Irving, TX 75061.
