Harold C. Byrum, age 88, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Harold was born on November 18, 1929 in Kosse, Texas to Ernest Graves Byrum and Beulah Exes Hadaway. Harold was life-long Baptist and family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He enjoyed sitting on the porch at home relaxing or watching football. He loved going to drag races, taking joy rides, and going out to eat at ma & pa restaurants. Harold is a veteran of the United States Navy serving from July of 1948 until December of 1951. Harold is preceded in death by his parents; spouse of 19 years Joyce J. Maricle; son Harold “Clif” Byrum Jr.; brothers Sherwood Byrum and wife Parrie and John James Byrum and wife Donna; sister Ernestine Graff and husband Henry. Left to cherish his memory are children Cindy Harvey and husband James and Timothy Byrum and wife Kimberly; grandchildren Everett Clifton Byrum, Lindsey Slaten and husband Nick, Kaitlin Purgason and husband Vincent, Chelsea Ramirez and husband Andy, Carson Harvey and wife Jenise; great grandchildren Zane Slaten, Noah Ramirez, Clive Purgason, Lucy Ramirez, Ember Slaten, and Eleanor Slaton; as well as many other loving friends and extended family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00 AM at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX. All friends and family need to arrive to the cemetery and line up in lane 1 by 8:45 AM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
