Obituary for Kenneth Bradshaw Baldwin

Kenneth Bradshaw Baldwin, age 89, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Kenneth was born October 5, 1928 in South Orange, New Jersey and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1950. He was graduated from Princeton University and a life-long supporter of his alma mater. He spent over fifty years working as an independent sales representative in the Home Furnishing Industry with his own showrooms in the Dallas Trade Mart and the Dallas World Trade Center. He was President of the International Home Furnishing Representative Association for the year 1983-1984, receiving the Distinguished Service Award in 1984. In addition, he received the Distinguished Service Award for his years of service and devotion to the Southwest Road Runners Association. He was honorary co-chair of the Republican Business Advisory council and a member of the Dallas Serra Club. He served as an Airman First Class in the Air National Guard of Texas and the Reserve of the United States Air Force. Kenneth was a true gentleman with impeccable manners, generous and always willing to help others. He was devoted to his Catholic faith, passionately patriotic and loved traveling the world. He was a voracious reader, enjoyed a love of history and sports, but most of all he cherished time spent with his family. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Nel Edwards Baldwin; parents Percival Bradshaw Baldwin and Sarah Mulroy Baldwin and brother Robert Baldwin. He is survived by daughter Suzy Baldwin Collins and husband David of Dallas; son Peter Buhmann and wife Gwen of Irving; and son David Buhmann and wife Martine of Dallas; grandchildren Andrew, Cameron, Courtney, David, Sarah and great-granddaughters Taylor and Elizabeth. A special thank you to the extraordinarily kind and generous caregivers and staff of Silverado Turtle Creek Memory Care Community past and present. The love and attention that they gave to him was a blessing. A special thank you to Michelle Hamilton for her unwavering love and care. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Pastor Milton F. Ryan on Friday, September 28, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3811 Oaklawn Ave., Dallas, TX 75219. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the SPCA of Dallas.
