Obituary for Eugenia Langston Collinsworth (Langston)

Eugenia Langston Collinsworth, age 79 died on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Eugenia was born on October 28, 1938 in Decatur, Texas to Doyle Langston and Virginia Theresa (Butler) Langston. Eugenia received her master’s degree from North Texas State University. She taught for 39 years at Lamar Junior High School in Irving, Texas working very hard to invest in the lives of her students; she was continuously recognized by them when she was out and about in the community. She was well respected, well read and well informed. Eugenia loved to travel, play cards and be out with friends at the movies or museum. She loved her granddaughter April; she was the apple of her eye. Eugenia treasured gathering with family and you could always count on her if you needed anything at all. Eugenia is preceded in death by her parents; husband J.T. Collinsworth; brother Eddie Langston; sister-in-law Janet Langston; brothers-in-law Archie Panfilli Jr. and Larry Clancy. Left to cherish her memory are son Jay Collinsworth, his wife Anna and their daughter April Collinsworth (the beloved granddaughter); sisters Doyline Gresham and husband Larry of Grapevine, Jackie Panfilli of Galveston, Linda Clancy of Bedford, Debra Skinner and husband Jerry of Lewisville, and Karla Langston of Corinth; brothers Billy Langston and Larry Langston both of Irving; and sister-in-law Debra Langston of Lake Dallas; as well as numerous other extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, Texas 75061. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the funeral home with an interment immediately following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75060.
