Eugenia was so special. We had many, many long talks about a variety of things. We got along very well while teaching at Lamar, the last few years across the hall from each other conversing with her pal Marcia Horvath. What a crew! I will miss her dearly. Peace to the family and friends.

Our THOUGHTS & PRAYERS are with her FAMILY! She was an AMAZING TEACHER! She taught my older brother Donnie, my middle brother Marty and baby brother John. Then, 6 years later, My Little Sister Shannan & My Baby Sister Belia! She was not just a teacher to OUR FAMILY, she was an AMAZING Friend to My Parents. May you Rest In Peace and be reunited with your husband J.T. And your Precious Parents, Mr & Mrs Langston and your brother Eddie!

Mrs. Collinsworth taught me over 25 years ago. I am proud to have known her. After being out of school for more than 20 years now, I don't recall every teacher that I crossed paths with, but I remember Mrs. Collinsworth vividly. Looking back, she is one of those handful of teachers that was life changing. I can’t say I remember every educational discipline we covered in class but what I remember most is she loved me unconditionally. This is a scripture that reminds me of her: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. Collinsworth/Langston family, be proud, she represented your family and values with grace.

I was so fortunate to be a colleague and a friend of Eugenia's. I taught in the reading department with her for over 30 years, learning so much from her about what a true professional is. She was so admired by all of Lamar's staff for her dedication and devotion to her students. She was one of the first to arrive in the morning and last to leave at night. She had perfect attendance for almost all of her years at Lamar.
After retirement, I was blessed to spend many fun times with her on our retirement group's adventures. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. Eugenia was a very special, unique person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Love you, dear friend.
