Obituary for Timothy Shawn Hightower

Psalms 23: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Timothy Shawn Hghtower, lived his life as Psalms 23 was his playbook. Tim was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 3, 1959. He was born to Earnest William and Emaline Hightower. He was a brother to Rusty, Michael, Brian, Brendan, Darren and Robert Hightower.
Timothy suffered with diabetes since the age of ten. He fought many of battles with the disease and some would say he won every one of them including the final battle that took his life, because he now dwells in the house of the Lord. The disease took his eyesight, but Tim didn’t let this hold him back. It just allowed him to see people for who they were from inside instead of outward appearance. Tim was partially paralyzed by the disease, but he didn’t let that beat him either. He would still do exercises to try to keep his strength up. He would try to do as much as he could on his own. Luckily the disease never effected his mind. Tim could remember stuff that most would forget. He always remembered the Lord was his Shepard and comfort him throughout his daily struggles.
As far as a celebration of life, Timothy would want each one of us to reflect on how he touched us. How we learned from him and take that same positive outlook he had on life with us. Most importantly Tim would want everyone at this time to be a follower of the Lord, so he can meet us again in Heaven, where he will be whole again.
