Obituary for Alice Jean Starnes (Neece)

Alice Jean (Neece) Starnes passed away Friday, January 11th, 2019, one day short of her 91st birthday. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Newell Bryant and Helen Catherine (Campbell) Neece on Thursday, January 12, 1928.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who will lovingly be remembered for her strong family bonds, and the joy she found spending time with her family and taking care of her daughter Carol. Her family will forever cherish and remember the annual Neece family Christmas’s she held. Alice attended Irving High School, played basketball and graduated class of 1945. In 1948 she married Everett Starnes and they were long time Irving residents. She enjoyed traveling, was a lifelong member of Christ Church in Irving and was always active in the church when she was able.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everett Starnes Sr., daughter Carol Starnes, brother Bryant Neece and sister Laurel Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Earnest Everett “Ernie” Starnes Jr. and wife Glenda; sister Pat Reynolds and husband Glenn; brother Art Neece and wife Jane; grandson Trey Starnes and wife Jennifer; granddaughter Tai Smith and husband Branden; great-grandchildren Haley Starnes, Tyler Starnes, Easten Smith, Kenedy Smith along with numerous nephews, nieces and many other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Christ Church, 1750 E. Airport Fwy in Irving, with a committal at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
