Obituary for Jerry Reeks

Print
Jerry Reeks, age 64, left this world too soon on Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born in Longview, Texas to Omega Mason Reeks and Alma Morris on Tuesday, April 6, 1954. Jerry will lovingly be remembered for his generous heart, giving nature and being a bit of a talker with a very funny personality and great sense of humor, always looking for a good laugh. He would help folks any time he had the chance, because Jerry enjoyed being needed and helping meet those needs for others. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, as well as a big John Denver fan and enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show, having watched it so many times, he could and would quote lines from it. Jerry loved astronomy, was great with electronics, watched the movie Christmas Vacation every year and always had the most fun going out on the boat. Jerry was a loving father and strived to be the best he could for his family, however with his sense of humor he enjoyed embarrassing his kids and would always say “don’t forget to tell em Goober said hey!” He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Reeks and sisters Patricia Parker and Peggy Shillings. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Angie Leedholm and husband Jon; son Cory Reeks and wife Cathy; sister Mona Perkins; grandchildren Victoria Flanngan, Michaela Landers, Brooke Leedholm, Alyssa Leedholm, Riley Leedholm, Bryce Vogel, Destiny Vogel and Blake Vogel, along with numerous extended family and loving friends.
