Josephine Rafa Packer, age 70, died on Monday, February 11, 2019. Josephine was born on December 24, 1948 in Calapan, Philippines to Jose Rafa and Encarnacion (Augustino) Rafa. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Salvador Asturias; brothers Florante and Aying and sister Evelyn. She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Marjorie Asturias and husband Brian; son Thomas Asturias and wife Kathryn Lam; son Salvador Asturias, Jr. and wife Pamela; grandchildren Maya and Ava Asturias; six brothers and sisters and many loving family members and friends. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. To Josephine, family was everything. She never missed a family dinner, found joy in entertaining them in her home and found great pleasure in spending time with her grandkids. Josephine loved seeing new places and having new experiences, whether that be through traveling, going on cruises, or just reading books that grabbed her imagination such as mysteries or thrillers. Josephine liked to work with her hands, in her garden or cooking; she was always taking care of something or someone. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Church in Irving where Josephine was a long-time member. The service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
