Obituary for LeRoy Sullivan "Lee" Grego

Leroy “Lee” Grego of Irving passed away February 17, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1935, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Sam Grego and Bessie Mae (Cross) Grego. Lee moved to Sioux City, Iowa, at the age of 6. He served his country in the United States Army, serving in Germany for two years and later graduated from Iowa State University. He was a member of First Baptist church in Irving, served in the Army National Guard Reserves, participated in Sea Cadets, and was formerly the President of the American Legion. Lee worked for Texas Instruments as well as running his own business. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, loved animals, and was known as a great handy man. He also enjoyed his time volunteering at The Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Lee is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and grandson Morgan Claunch. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of almost 60 years Patricia Grego; daughters Catherine Bledsoe and Shelly Bowen; grandchildren Lee Claunch and wife Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Quintin, Emily, and Brook Claunch; Sister Gerry Pratt and husband Alfred; sister Dorothy and many loving friends and extended family members. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1st Baptist Church, 403 S. Main Street in Irving. Lee will be inurned at The Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date, please check back for service date and time.
